Job Description:

  • Conduct annual verifications to ensure that WYI financial records are up to date.
  • Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Summarize current financial status and ensure compliance with WYI’s policies/procedures.
  • Track and support all documents related to government taxation.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 1 years previous experience in an accounting role.
  • Possess strong knowledge of accounting principals/practices specific to Québec and Canada.
  • Excellent computer skills and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational skills with positive attitude and strong communication skills.

Mobile App Developer

  • Work closely with the different teams (graphic designers, management etc.) working on the project to identify their needs and their expectations as well as the ones of future users.

Project Photographer

Job Description:

  • Light and photograph different subjects or places for publications and online uses.
  • Process, edit, colour correct, and retouch of images as required.
  • Help the team determine what images are needed and how to best use them.
  • Select and assemble photography equipment for each photo shoot according to subject material, anticipated conditions, and knowledge of camera function, lenses, and accessories.

Job Requirements:

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of photography (digital file types, file sizes, color space, image resolution, image optimization, color correction, photo-styling, studio and location lighting, shooting in RAW and JPG formats).
  • Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Gimp or other photography specific software
  • Relevant experience (professional/non-professional) including a portoflio of your body of work.

Chinese Translator/Editor

What's Your Impact (WYI) is looking for people who want to find a way to put their Chinese skills to use to help the environment! WYI is an environmental awareness group whose main goal is to inform people about global warming and what they can do about it as individuals.

Through your language skills people in Chinese-speaking countries will learn more about what they can do to stop climate change and discover various green tips that they can use in their daily lives to fight global warming. With your help, we can fight climate change around the world.

If you excel in reading and writing in Chinese, as well as in English and/or French, and are looking for a challenge then join our team!

Job Description:

  • Translate texts or website content from English or French to Chinese.
  • Proofread and edit texts, multimedia and Website content.
  • Respect project deadlines and formatting guidelines set by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in Chinese as well as English and/or French.
  • Excellent writing skills in Chinese.
  • Able to use word processing tools such as Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS would be an asset.

Job Location: Montreal or E-Work/Telecommuting

Time Commitment: You are in control. Our volunteers have the flexibility to help when they can, from where ever they want. All we require is that you volunteer for a minimum of eight hours per week. We use a team approach so that the workload is flexible based on the time you can give us on a given week. That way you are in control of how many hours you volunteer.

What's Your Impact (WYI) is an environmental awareness group whose main goal is to inform people about global warming and what they can do about it as individuals.

Maybe you know the best stores where you can buy local or you're a veteran carpooler with advice to give or even a guru on saving electricity... Whatever your green tips and tricks are, you can help people in your area who are looking to do the same by blogging about your everyday successes! Our blog is a tool to connect people around the world and provide them the information they need to fight climate change.

If you like spreading the news on how people can take small steps that will have a huge impact in the fight against climate change, we want to talk to you!

Job Description:

  • Research, write, edit and help with layout for content.
  • Write articles in a conversational style which will engage readers.
  • Share your ideas, respond to comments + encourage the discussion in person as well as on our blog, Twitter and Facebook.
  • Include WYI's tips and overall message of action against climate change in each of your articles.
  • Article topics include: buying local, green fashion, green beauty, organic food, organic gardening, climate change news, green tech, carpooling, public transit, policy and government initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven ability in researching, writing, proofreading and editing.
  • Excellent skill in creating engaging content with a simple conversational style, staying informative but not verbose.
  • Past experience producing content for the web, specifically writing content with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in mind would be an asset.
  • Strong desire in helping those that want to know how to concretely take action in the fight against climate change.
  • Act as an ambassador for WYI to spread the word that everyone can make a difference and together our small changes will have a huge impact in the fight against climate change.

Job Location: Montreal or E-Work/Telecommuting

  • Create job descriptions and succession plans to ensure consistency throughout the organization.

  • Carry out recruitment activities including: advertisements, create interview questions, make selection recommendations to the manager, verify references, present letters of offer, etc.
  • Foster staff engagement, recognition and retention.
