Contributing Photographer Apply

Can you capture a story in the blink of an eye? Bring fresh perspective to daily life? What's Your Impact (WYI) is looking for people who care about the environment and have a passion for photography. WYI is an environmental awareness group whose main goal is to inform people about global warming and what they can do about it as individuals.

WYI needs people who have a strong background in photography, who know news when they see it and have the technical skills to capture it and present it on multiple media platforms quickly and professionally.

If you enjoy taking dynamic pictures of the world around you and using these skills to make a difference in the fight to reverse climate change, then we want you to join our team!

Job Description:

  • Light and photograph different items, subjects or places for WYI publications and on-line uses.
  • Process, edit, colour-correct, and retouch of images as required.
  • Maintain and manage the digital photo filing and archiving as per WYI filing and naming conventions.
  • Select and assemble photography equipment for each photo shoot according to subject material, anticipated conditions, and knowledge of camera function, lenses, and accessories.

Job Requirements:

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of photography (digital file types, file sizes, color space, image resolution, image optimization, color correction, photo-styling, studio and location lighting, shooting in RAW and JPG formats).
  • Solid understanding of managing and uploading images for print and online use.
  • Relevant experience (professional/non-professional) including a portoflio of your body of work.
  • Detail-oriented, takes initiative, very organized, able to multi-task.
  • A team player and also able to work well independently.

  • Maintain and enhance existing Web applications and internal systems.

The specialist will be responsible for determining and understanding our target audience and developing our marketing program based on that information.

Job Description:

  • Maintain the overall marketing plan as well as manage and coordinate marketing related activities.
  • Execute and deliver marketing campaigns that achieve program participation goals.
  • Develop the definitions for target customer segments for each campaign.
  • Monitor the success of strategies to identify gaps and opportunities for growing the WYI brand.
  • Determine marketing objectives as well as the 'call to action' for each campaign.
  • Perform marketing analytics, market research and other sales support functions as required.
  • Contribute to establishing financial targets and fundraising tracking systems.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree and/or experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Organizational and time-management skills are required, including the ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to juggle multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities. Proven experience in project development and collaboration.
  • Self motivated team player with a positive attitude, capable of forming relationships with individuals and WYI members.

  • Conceptualize graphics required, produce sample storyboard, edit and modify based on feedback from team.
  • Produce final high quality still graphics for the GreenWash comic strip within required deadlines.

  • Artistic ability as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles are essential.
